Tue 2 Apr
Check in at Hotel FLORA, downtown Cagliari, Via Sassari 45 (tel 070-658219) at time of your convenience after 11am. Cagliari is located only 7kms from the airport. A fast comfortable train covers the distance in a short time. The hotel is located just 5 minutes walk from the railway station.
19.00 – Get together in the hotel’s lobby for a briefing.
19.30 – Dinner at the hotel with some traditional Sardinian dishes (included).

09.30 – Sightseeing walking orientation in Cagliari, covering the main architectural highlights of this historic city. Afternoon at leisure.
19.30 – Optional dinner.

Thu 4 Apr
08.30 – Departure for a very scenic drive along the south east coastal road of Sardinia.
11.00 – Arrival at the picturesque town of Villasimius. Local sightseeing.
12.00 – Panoramic circuit, east of Villasimius to Costa Rei. Return to Villasimius and local lunch.
14.00 – Departure from Villasimius.
16.30 – Arrival back in Cagliari.
19.30 – Optional dinner.

Fri 5 Apr
08.30 – Very scenic drive along the south west coast.
10.30 – Refreshment stop at panoramic chalet overlooking a beautiful stretch of the coastline. Continuation to the charming Porto Pino. Local scenic walk and lunch.
13.30 – Departure from Porto Pino.
16.30 – Arrival back in Cagliari.
19.30 – Optional dinner.

Sat 6 Apr
08.30 – Departure for Alghero. The first part of the drive is along the green undulating countryside of Sardinia until we reach Bosa and Bosa Marina where we stop for lunch by the sea. After Bosa Marina the road becomes very spectacular unwinding well above a rocky coastline full of crystal clear tiny inlets. Before getting to the hotel we then stop in the outskirts of Alghero at the archaeological site of Palmavera dating back more than 1000 years B.C.
17.30 – Arrival at the hotel.
19.30 – Dinner in local restaurant (included).

Sun 7 Apr
08.30 – Morning orientation on foot in Alghero covering the main architectural and military highlights of this historic town which was originally an outpost of Catalunya. So much so that the locals still speak Catalan like in Barcelona. Afternoon at leisure.
19.30 – Optional dinner.

Mon 8 Apr
08.30 – Departure for Cape Caccia driving along the scenic road of the Gulf of Alghero. Panoramic walk on the side of Cape Caccia to the Grotto of Neptune. Optional guided tour of the Grotto. Return to Alghero by lunch time.
14.30 – Scenic drive to Villanova Monteleone (550m). The winding country road offers beautiful views of a green hilly countryside in very pristine conditions. Brief stroll in Villanova and local refreshment.
17.30 – Arrival back in Alghero.
19.30 – Optional dinner.

The medieval tower of Cape Falcone on Sardinia’s North West Coast

Tue 9 Apr
08.30 – Departure for Cape Falcone and Castelsardo. On the way north we stop at Stintino along the thin peninsula leading to Cape Falcone. Continuation to Cape Falcone and then to Castelsardo: a very picturesque town on the northern coast. Local sightseeing and lunch by the sea.
16.30 – Arrival back in Alghero.
19.30 – Optional dinner.

Downtown Olbia

Wed 10 Apr
08.30 – Departure for Olbia. This drive unfolds through the countryside of Northern Sardinia, rich in pastures and dotted with ancient villages.
12.30 – Arrival at the hotel.
15.00 – Orientation on foot covering the downtown area of Olbia which has undergone a considerable modern expansion since becoming the gateway of the much celebrated (and world famous) Emerald Coast of North East Sardinia.
19.30 – Dinner in local restaurant (included).

Thu 11 Apr
Morning at leisure.
14.30 – Scenic drive heading south to the picturesque coastal village of San Paolo which is flanked by an impressive small granite island which rises vertically out of crystal blue waters to almost 600m. Local sightseeing and short scenic walk.
17.00 – Arrival at the hotel.
19.30 – Optional dinner.

Fri 12 Apr
08.30 – Departure for the Archipelago of Maddalena (north east point of Sardinia).
10.00 – Ferry boat to Maddalena Island taking our mini coach as well. Scenic drive (with a few stops) around the island, crossing to the nearby Island of Caprera via a causeway. Local lunch and visit to the historic house of Giuseppe Garibaldi, hero of the Risorgimento Movement which led to the unification of Italy in 1861.
17.30 – Arrival back in Olbia.
19.30 – Optional dinner.

Sat 13 Apr
08.30 – Departure for the Emerald Coast which has become one of the most upmarket resorts of the Mediterranean Sea. Sightseeing stops at Porto Cervo and Cannigione, before arriving at Palau. Free time and lunch at Palau.
13.30 – Scenic drive to the Natural Reserve of Cape d’Orso. Scenic walk to the tip of Cape d’Orso.
17.00 – Arrival back in Olbia.
19.30 – Optional dinner.

Sun 14 Apr
08.30 – Departure for the City of Nuoro (at 550m) in the heart of the mountainous district of Sardinia. On the way south we stop at La Caletta and Orosei (lunch).
15.00 – Arrival in Nuoro.
16.00 – Sightseeing walking orientation downtown Nuoro, covering the main highlights of the city.
19.30 – Dinner in local restaurant (included).

Mon 15 Apr
Morning at leisure in Nuoro.
14.00 – Panoramic drive to the top of Mount Ortobene which rises at 1,000m above sea level. A brief local scenic walk boasts sweeping views over Nuoro and its valley. Good facilities available on the spot. Return to Nuoro.
19.30 – Optional dinner.

Tue 16 Apr
08.30 – Departure for the picturesque seaside resort of Cala Gonone.
10.00 – Arrival, sightseeing and scenic walk along the elegant promenade. Local refreshment by the seaside.
11.00 – Short drive heading south to the pretty little bay of Cala Fuili to be followed by a spectacular scenic walk.
13.00 – Return to Cala Gonone for lunch. After lunch visit the local aquarium.
17.30 – Arrival back in Nuoro.
19.30 – Optional dinner.

Wed 17 Apr
08.30 – Departure for a scenic circuit throughout the National Park of Gennargentu which features the highest peaks in Sardinia, reaching almost 2,000m. The whole area is renowned not only for its beautiful scenery but also for the picturesque traditional villages which seem to belong to another age. We selected Desulo for our first stop. And then we proceed to Tonara. From Tonara we drive onward to Lake Gusana where we have lunch by the lake.
15.00 – Arrival back in Nuoro. Afternoon at leisure for the final day of our tour.
19.30 – Optional dinner.

Thu 18 Apr
08.00 – Departure for Cagliari Airport. This is a freeway journey.
14.00 – Arrival at Cagliari Airport. End of the tour.
